What is the ‘Healthiest diet’ on the planet?

healthy meals, vegetarian, nutritious, low fat, low salt, low sugar, low calorie

What is the healthiest diet on the planet? There is research by authorities proving it. I honestly believe it’s how I eat. You knew I was going to say that, right? Of course, I have to believe that, as I have received many benefits from eating a plant based whole food diet.

  • I lost almost 50 pounds
  • My blood pressure went way down to 100/60
  • I feel better
  • I look healthier
  • I’m stronger
  • I am mentally sharper
  • I will likely live longer same as those here and around the world who eat mostly plant based whole food

I am passing information along the way as I learn through my own experience, research and trial and error. I am a living example eating more fruits and vegetables works. I don’t have to go to the doctor and don’t take any medications. How could things get any better than this?

The healthiest foods on the planet to eat are…

  • Green leafy vegetables like kale and spinach
  • Steamed broccoli and cabbage
  • All berries
  • Beans and legumes
  • Seeds and nuts in small amounts
  • Be sure to make an attempt to buy everything you can organic with no GMO’s
  • Don’t forget to add onions, mushrooms and tomatoes when you cook food
Don't forget to add starchy vegetables like peas and squash, tubers like potatoes and your whole grain brown and basmati rice, so you feel 'satisfied' after meals.

Things will likely get better for you when you reach your health and weight loss goals. I feel that if this works for me, why not for you, too? I am not a health professional, just a layman who studies weight loss, healthy eating and ways known to increase lifespan.

‘A healthy eating plan gives your body the nutrients it needs every day while staying within your daily calorie goal for weight loss. A healthy eating plan also will lower your risk for heart disease and other health conditions [1 ‘nhlbi.nih.gov].

The ‘unhealthiest diet on earth’ seems to be our traditional diet rich in animal products, salt, sugar and oil. It has been called ‘the standard American diet’ we all love to eat until we suffer from various ailments, conditions and diseases it eventually brings us.

Bear in mind: what tastes good isn't necessarily good for us.

A few examples of the unhealthiest foods to eat we all love, are…

  • Refined white flour used in white bread
  • Refined white sugar added to boxed cereals and hidden in many other processed foods
  • Soda pop like colas and other sugary drinks that have high fructose corn syrup
  • Refined oils like olive oil and all vegetable oils
  • Fried foods like French fries
  • Meat, chicken, fish, pork and all animal products
  • Pastries like doughnuts, cookies, crackers, pies and cakes
  • All dairy products like ice cream, butter, milk and yogurt
