Why Healthy Food You Thought Was Good For You May Make You Feel Unhealthy

I know food I heard was OK doesn’t always make me feel good. What could that be? One example is pistachio nuts. Nuts do happen to be on the ‘no eat’ list if you happen to have a food allergy. Here’s a list they of common triggers. You go on an ‘elimination diet’ to test which foods individually cause you problems.

  2. Apples
  3. Bananas
  4. Chocolate
  5. Citrus Fruits
  6. Corn
  7. Dairy
  8. Eggs
  9. Meat
  10. Nuts and Peanuts
  11. Olives
  12. Onions
  13. Potatoes
  14. Sauerkraut
  15. Sugar
  16. Tomatoes
  17. Wheat, oats, barley, rye
  18. Night shades like bell peppers

I still eat things like olives, sauerkraut,  tomatoes, potatoes, onions, bananas and apples. But, now I ‘pressure cook’ potatoes, beans, rice and soup. We all have different body chemistry and if we want to stay healthy, we should learn what to eat and not. Despite all the conflicting opinions on healthy food, one needs to trust how his body feels after eating.

‘If one wants to lose weight, it’s a good idea to change which foods he eats. Plant based whole food will make one lose weight. Processed and refined foods don’t deliver superior health’

Why one gets healthier and loses weight eating real food is that it has more fiber, less calories and more nutrient content. Weight loss foods on TV are not real food. If one is overweight, it’s a good idea to reduce it. But, not at the expense of ones health. Many trim people are not healthy.

The trap in being a vegan or vegetarian is that you keep eating processed and refined food. Plant based whole food is eating bananas, apples, salads, broccoli, potatoes, beans and food like that. TV dinners and eating out at most restaurants most often doesn’t qualify.

When you make your own food, you know what’s in it. I eat a very low fat diet. For example, this kind of diet may help people like me who have had RA symptoms [1]. I lost 50 pounds and got healthier eating like this.
