I like eating avocados. Therefore, I love guacamole. I don’t really like store bought. I make mine myself. They always seem to put way too much garlic in it!
Furthermore, I like to know what’s in my food. When one buys items already made he needs to read the ingredient label. But, let’s bypass all that eating our foods whole and not processed and refined. No reading required there.
I eat about 4 avocados a week. I believe that it’s healthy fat. But, if one is not consuming enough daily calories, he tends to overdo fats and possibly refined carbs like sugary drinks, seeds, nuts, chips, bread and tortillas.
‘What’s great about eating an avocado is that you can slice it up and top a salad off with one’
I either blend my avocados in my food processor or mash them up with my potato masher. The potato masher is faster with less cleanup, so this is the one I prefer currently.
Avocados have this in them…
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
- Hey, did you know it’s a fruit?
‘I often cut an avocado in half and scoop it out into my pan fried potatoes, onion, mushrooms and green pepper’
What I eat is plant based whole food and the avocado qualifies just the way it is. When I make my guacamole this is how I make it…
- Mash up 1 to 2 avocados
- Squeeze half a lemon
- Garlic salt
- Onion powder
- Hot sauce
Instead of chips you can bake potato wedges and dip them in. You can also use salsa. I bake sliced potatoes in the oven at about 400 degrees for 45 minutes. I don’t make them too crispy.
‘Be careful how many seeds, nuts and avocados you eat. They are real weight gainers when one overdoes it’
Note- before you change your diet consult your doctor.
